Mushroom Biryani  

Recipe for preparing the Mushroom Biriyani.

Ingredients

  • Mushroom – 150g
  • Basmathi rice  –  1cup

To Grind

  • Cinnamon  –  2
  • Cloves  – 2
  • Star anise  –  1
  • Fennel Seeds  –  1/2 tspn
  • Red chilli  –  2
  • Garlic  –  7pods
  • Ginger  –  4 sticks

Seasoning

  • Biryani leaf   –  2
  • Cinnamon   –  2
  • Cloves  – 2
  • Green Chilli   –  1
  • Big Onion  –  1
  • Tomato  –  1
  • Mint leaves  – 2 springs
  • Oil  –  1tspn
  • Ghee  –  1 1/2 tspn

Recipe

  1. Dry Fry the above given  to grind ingredientss except ginger and garlic.
  2. Grind the fried ingredients, ginger and garlic as a fine paste.
  3. Cut the onion into lengthwise.
  4. Chop the tomato finely.
  5. Cut the mushroom into 4 pieces and Wash it in the turmeric mixed water.
  6. Heat Cooker add Bayleaf, Cinnamon, Cloves and mint leaves and fry it for few seconds.
  7. Add  Onion and fry it till it becomes golden brown in color.
  8. Add ground paste and fry it till the raw smell goes off.
  9. Then add tomato and mash it well.
  10. Now add mushroom in to it and close the lid.
  11. Allow it to cook until the water coming from mushroom should dry out well or until the size of the mushroom pieces are reduced
  12. noticeably.
  13. Once its done 3/4th now add basmathi rice  and fry it for 2 to 3 minutes until the water evaporates from thr rice.
  14. Now add 2 cups of water, required amount of salt and mix it well, and then close the lid.
  15. Allow it to cook for 1 whistle.Before the 2 whistle comes switch off  the flame.
  16. Serve hot with raitha.

Tips

If u dont have to time to make masala, you can use Red chilli powder and kari masala powder behalf of it.
